We Rocked Our Socks!

Bennett Preschool participated in "Rock Your Socks" Day!
Every year on March 21st, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. Why March 21st? Because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome! Why socks? Because the chromosomes actually look like mismatched socks under a microscope!

Our First Paw Pack Visit!

Bennett Preschool was visited for the first time this year by The Paw Pack Adventure Club! Like last year, Archie and his handler Angela have come to visit us to teach therapy dogs. A Winter Wonderland!

We brought the winter INSIDE at Bennett Preschool! Our students explored an abundance of STEAM-focused activities during our Winter Wonderland event. From ice-skating, to snowflakes, to snowy sensory bins, the kids had a "snowball" learning about science in a fun and imaginative ways! All while staying warm and cozy inside our classrooms! Thank you, teachers, for creating such a wonderful day of snow for our students!

Mystery Reader Visit!
January 2024
Miss Jen's preschool class was visited by a Mystery Reader! Miss Pam stopped by to read "The Mitten" by Jan Brett with her world-famous storytelling talent. Then we did a mitten art activity! It was so fun!
Learning to Code!
January 2024
Our classrooms at Bennett Preschool were visited by Sphero's Indi Robots! With the help of Miss Stephanie and Miss Haley, the students learned the basics of coding. We learned how to make Indi drive using color-based commands--how cool! We showed Indi how to drive fast, drive slow, stop, and even dance!

We Met Debbie Consalvo!
December 2023
Debbie Consalvo, author of the Adventures of Milo the Dog series, was invited to read her story to us! It was amazing for the kids to meet a real author. She even gave us an autographed copy of her book! It was super fun, and we are looking forward to hopefully another visit later this year!
